Yerevan reports death of soldier after shelling

A conscript was killed in Gegarkunik Region after shelling from Azerbaijani positions, the Armenian Ministry of Defence (MoD) reported on November 22.

According to the MoD, the shelling was conducted in the direction of the village of Norabak. The incident took place around 6:10 p.m. local time. The shelling was conducted from firearms of various calibres at the Armenian positions, a MoD's official told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"As a result of the shelling, a conscript soldier Suren Safaryan, born in 2002, was mortally wounded," said the MoD's source, adding that the shootout was over at 7:30 p.m.

In its turn, the Azerbaijani MoD stated that no fire was opened in the above direction.
