Farmer wounded by mine explosion in Azerbaijan

Khanlar Aslanov, a resident of the Djabrail District, was wounded by explosion of an anti-personnel mine while engaged in field works in the Karabakh conflict zone.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that residents of Azerbaijan are periodically blown up by the mines that had been installed in the Karabakh conflict zone. Thus, on September 21, a tractor driver ran over an anti-tank mine during reconstruction works in the village of Garvand in the Agdam District and received wounds at the explosion.

Earlier, military analysts questioned by the “Caucasian Knot” have pointed out that demining the territories after the combat actions in Nagorno-Karabakh may take years, and clearing the sites of military operations from ammunition is a long and complicated process.

According to the Azerbaijani Prosecutor's Office, the above farmer in the Djabrail District got blown up by the mine at about 4 p.m. local time on November 7.

Khanlar Aslanov, 54, a local resident, received various wounds while performing agricultural works in the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh that had passed under Azerbaijan's control, the APA News Agency reported on November 7, citing the Prosecutor's Office of the Djabrail District, without providing any other details.
