Adjamatov's defence claims inconsistencies in prosecution's version

Ivan Oreshkov, a prosecution witness, who testified within the case of Alikhan Adjamatov, a native of Dagestan, accused of assisting terrorists, had communicated with him a year before he himself joined terrorists, an advocate has stated at trial. Two defence witnesses have stated that they had been exposed to pressure with the aim to testify against Adjamatov.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 13, a court in Moscow began considering the case of Alikhan Adjamatov, a Moscow doctor of Dagestani origin. Adjamatov denies the charges of financing terrorism and claimed to the court that the money transfers that figure in the case materials were not intended for terrorists; one of them was a payment for medicines.

On October 27, the trial of Alikhan Adjamatov's case continued in Moscow. The defence presented its proofs of Adjamatov's innocence. In particular, it drew attention to testimonies of Roman Rzakhanov and Roman Babaev. Both witnesses stated that they had been exposed to pressure.

The decision on bringing Ivan Oreshkov to justice as a defendant indicates the date when he joined an illegal armed formation (IAF) – August 31, 2013, the defence has stated. Meanwhile, in his testimony, Oreshkov claimed that he communicated with Adjamatov in 2012, that is, a year before he himself joined terrorists, said one of the advocates.
