Suffered party demands tougher punishment for murderer of activist in Tarki

The verdict handed down to a resident of the Makhachkala settlement of Tarki for the murder of Vali Abduragimov, a local activist and fighter against drug dealers, is too lenient, Vali's father has stated.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 3, 2021, Vali Abduragimov, 23, who had fought with drug dealers, was killed in Tarki.

The guilty verdict to Djammalitdin Bolatkhanov, passed on September 17 by the Sovietsky District Court of Makhachkala, is too lenient, Nurutdin, Vali's father, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"He was sentenced to ten years in prison. Is it fair? They give a little less for a theft, but here it was a premeditated murder," said Nurutdin Abduragimov.

The sentencing of Bolatkhanov took place on September 17; it follows from the information posted in the file of cases on the website of the Sovietsky District Court of Makhachkala.

The father believes that the reason for his son's murder was the latter's fight against drug dealers. "He was not afraid of them, although he had received threats. He wanted to stop them, but died for the people," said Nurutdin, adding that he would seek to toughen the killer's verdict.

The verdict has already been appealed against, one of the advocates representing the interests of the suffered party told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
