On September 6-12, two persons fall victim to armed conflict in Northern Caucasus

During the week from September 6 to September 12, 2021, at least two people perished during the ongoing armed conflict in Northern Caucasus; no information about the wounded ones was reported. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from other open sources.

Special operation in Dagestan

In connection with information about the movement of militants, early in the morning on September 10, a counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime was introduced in the Buynaksk District of Dagestan. The CTO was held in a forest near the village of Talgi; while a lot of militaries arrived in the village, local residents said. The Russian National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC) has reported that law enforcers killed two militants, who had opened fire in response to a demand to surrender. According to sources, those killed in the CTO conducted in the Buynaksk District of Dagestan were identified as Urudj Ramazanov and Eiruz Abdulaev.

The CTO regime in the Buynaksk District was lifted the next day. The official version about the reasons for the introduction thereof raised doubts among Instagram users, who indicated that the state of the objects shown in the video about the CTO, which, according to law enforcers, belonged to the killed militants, failed to meet the conditions of staying in the forest.

The CTO in the Buynaksk District became the second in Dagestan since the beginning of the year. The previous CTO was held on March 11 in Makhachkala.

Every month, quarter, and every year, the “Caucasian Knot” posts statistics with regard to victims of the armed conflict in the regions of the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD) in Section “Northern Caucasus: Statistics of Victims”.
