On July 26-August 1, 2021, no one fell victim to armed conflict in Northern Caucasus

During the week of July 26-August 1, 2021, no killed or wounded in the ongoing armed conflict in Northern Caucasus were reported. These are the results of the calculations run by the “Caucasian Knot” based on its own materials and information from other open sources.

Arrests

On July 26, three persons were arrested by a court in Yessentuki for two months in a case on plotting a terror act on the territory of a police department in Kislovodsk. The arrestees are also suspected of organizing the activities of an extremist organization. One of those arrested, Dagestani resident Adam Darsaev, pleaded not guilty in court.

On the same day, the Leninsky District Court of Stavropol sent into custody for two months Ibragim Simbarigov, a native of Chechnya, in a case on the murder of Ruslan Abovyan, the deputy chief of the Criminal Investigating Department in Stavropol. According to the investigators’ version, Ibragim Simbarigov pleaded not guilty. Investigators also put on the wanted list the second suspect, Chechen native Zaurbek Keniev: according to investigators’ version, he ordered the murder of the police officer.

Every month, quarter, and every year, the “Caucasian Knot” posts statistics with regard to victims of the armed conflict in the regions of the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD) in Section “Northern Caucasus: Statistics of Victims”.
