34-year-old driver Elshan Eivaz oglu Khalilov was injured as a result of a bomb explosion in the village of Garakhanbeili in the Fizuli District, the regional Prosecutor’s Office reported.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on July 8, Nuru Nuriev and Elnur Gashimov, residents of the Fizuli District, who violated the ban on visiting the territory of Karabakh, were blown up by a mine and severely injured. Later, Nuru Nuriev died, and Elnur Gashimov lost both legs.

Elshan Eivaz oglu Khalilov, who works as a driver, touched “a cover of an unexploded cluster bomb planted by the Armenian armed forces in violation of international humanitarian law.”

Since November 10, 2020, after the cessation of the combat actions in Karabakh, 29 Azerbaijani citizens, including seven military men, have been killed in mine explosions. Besides, 86 soldiers and 32 civilians were injured, the General Prosecutor’s Office of Azerbaijan reported.

Let us remind you that on June 12, Azerbaijan handed over 15 captured soldiers to Armenia in exchange for maps with location of 97,000 anti-tank and anti-personnel mines in the Agdam District. On July 3, at the Russia’s initiative, Armenia provided Azerbaijan with maps locating about 92,000 anti-tank and anti-personnel mines in the Fizuli and Zangilan District. In turn, the Azerbaijani side handed over to Armenia 15 military prisoners sentenced to imprisonment in Azerbaijan.
