Within the case of confrontation on July 5, during the action against the “Tbilisi Pride”, a total of 23 persons have been recognized as victims, including 17 media professionals. NGOs have blamed Georgian authorities for the incident.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 1-5, in Tbilisi, activists of the LGBT community held the "LGBT Week", which they planned to end with a “March of Dignity” in the city centre. On July 5, several hundred opponents of the gay parade blocked Rustaveli Avenue and attacked journalists. The organizers of the "March of Dignity" ultimately abandoned the action altogether.

The action of LGBT opponents held in front of the Georgian Parliament has ended today, July 7, at night, but several people remained in the venue. Several dozen people were detained, the “Sputnik-Georgia” reports.

Within the case of the clashes that occurred on July 5 during the action against the “Tbilisi Pride”, 23 persons were found to be victims, including 17 journalists and cameramen, the “Georgia-Online” has cited the information of the Georgian Prosecutor's Office.

The events in Tbilisi were responded by David Kramer, a former US Assistant Secretary of State. In his opinion, the Georgian Government is responsible for the incident; and the Georgian Prime Minister, Irakli Garibashvili, should resign.

NGO activists have also blamed the authorities for the incident. Tamta Mikeladze, the leader of the NGO “Centre for Social Justice”, believes that the incident had been planned in advance.
