Dagestani fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov explains unwillingness to challenge Kadyrov's reproach

Ramzan Kadyrov's words are not offensive and require no reaction, Khabib Nurmagomedov has explained his refusal to debate with the head of Chechnya, who called the Dagestani fighter an "UFC project".

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 13, Ramzan Kadyrov announced that he was ready to pay Nurmagomedov any bonus for the victory over the fighter from the "Akhmat" Fighting Club. Besides, he rebuked Khabib for fighting under the auspices of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), and not under the flag of Russia or Dagestan. Khabib has ignored the invitation to the fight.

According to his version, he failed to react to Kadyrov's statement for two weeks because he "gained life experience." "I don't think I need to react to this somehow ... Each person has his own opinion,” the fighter has explained.

"Khabib is a good athlete, but he is an UFC project," the head of Chechnya had stated earlier. Instagram users then noted that with these words Kadyrov provoked disputes between Chechens and Dagestanis.

Let us remind you that Nurmagomedov is on friendly terms with the head of Chechnya. In particular, in 2018, after his resounding victory over Conor McGregor, he received a Mercedes car worth at least 6 million roubles from the Akhmat Kadyrov Fund.
