Russian screenwriter receives threats over "Topi" serial episodes with a Chechen woman
The serial "Topi" (Moors) to the scenario by Dmitry Glukhovsky, has outraged social network users from Chechnya, who treated the behaviour of the film's heroine as immoral. Some commentators demanded apologies from the writer; others expressed direct threats against him, after which Glukhovsky's personal data appeared on the Internet, including his address and cell phone number.
One of the plot lines of the serial tells about a Chechen girl who runs away from her Chechen groom to the village of Topi. The films also show bed scenes with her participation. The topic of the Chechen wars is also touched upon in the "Topi" film, the "Kavkaz.Realii" has written.
After the release of the serial, messages began appearing in social networks with threats to the scriptwriter, Dmitry Glukhovsky. Such messages, in particular, appeared on Glukhovsky's Instagram page.
Amina Ozdamirova, a Chechen scriptwriter and producer, posted a video clip on her Instagram condemning the TV serial "Topi", in which she actually justified the threats against the filmmaker.
In her opinion, Glukhovsky "had introduced a provocative heroine for the hype and to attract attention."
Threats against Glukhovsky may be part of the film's promotion campaign, Rustam Tapaev, the head of the Union of Chechen Youth, has suggested, the National News Service reports.
