Report on nomination of Kadyrov for Nobel Prize causes public outcry on Instagram

Ramzan Kadyrov has been nominated for the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize. This was announced by Vyacheslav Tyutyunnik, the president of the International Nobel Information Centre (INC) located in Tambov.

According to the Vyacheslav Tyutyunnik’s announcement, Ramzan Kadyrov has been nominated “for his outstanding contribution to the establishment and maintenance of reliable peace in the historically difficult Chechen region over the past 15 years,” the news agency “Online Tambov.ru” reports.

Until now, only two persons in Russia have become laureates of the Nobel Peace Prize: in 1975, Academician Andrei Sakharov received it, and in 1990, President of the USSR Mikhail Gorbachev was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his contribution to the end of the Cold War, the “Online Tambov.ru” reports.

According to the Vyacheslav Tyutyunnik’s information, the leader of Chechnya is nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize by Norwegian experts, whose names have not been disclosed, the “Obzor” reports today.

Subscribers to the Instagram account of the “Grozny” state-run TV Channel approved the nomination of the leader of Chechnya for the Nobel Prize. Meanwhile, in the Instagram public account “Grozny Chechnya Caucasus”, authors of most of the comments ridiculed the idea of nominating the leader of Chechnya for the Nobel Peace Prize. Some users considered it an April Fool's joke.

“Today is April 1st!” wrote, in particular, users vip.zizeka and balaeva_0007 in their comments. “For what merits?” user minbeiol expressed the surprise in a comment.
