Law enforcers demand apology from mother of one of arrested Dagestanis

The three law enforcers, whom the mother of Islam Barzukaev, a resident of Derbent, accused of terrorism, considers involved in torturing her son, have filed a lawsuit against the mother, Elena Barzukaeva. They demand from her to declare the information spread by her about their involvement in torturing her son as false, apologize and compensate their moral harm.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that female relatives of Derbent residents, Islam Barzukaev, Gasan Kurbanov and Mirzaali Mirzaliev, regularly hold pickets in Makhachkala in support of them. Mirzaali Mirzaliev's mother claims that law enforcers are forcing him to incriminate Barzukaev and Kurbanov.

The author of the above lawsuit has stated that he could not continue his active professional activity, since the "defendant had discredited" him. Barzukayeva's statements have caused a significant moral harm to the claimant; checks are conducted in relation to him, and his emotional state is telling on his relatives, his lawsuit says.

"The investigator found no excess of powers in law enforcers' actions. But why then are our children defaced? Their knees are shattered; Islam's eardrum has burst, and he has his arthrosis progressing," Ms Barzukaeva has stated.
