Head of Ingush ensemble publicly apologizes for charity action

The participation of girls from the "Sunzha" ensemble in the action with treating the truck drivers stuck on the highway aroused discontent of some of residents of Ingushetia. The head of the ensemble, Umar Guliev, has recorded a video message of apology.

Some residents of Ingushetia were outraged that on March 22, girls in national costumes treated the truckers awaiting the opening of the Georgian Military Highway with some food. According to critics, this was inappropriate behaviour for women, the "Bak'dar" reports.

Umar Guliev, the head of the "Sunzha" ensemble, said that two girls took part in the action. "One of them is my daughter, the other is the daughter of my friend," he emphasized in the video posted on the Instagram.

He did not recognize this action as a mistake but still has apologized. Some of the commentators stated that the intentions of the organizers of the action were insincere.

At the same time, the authorities of the Sunzha District of Ingushetia reported similar assistance to truckers. At one of the sites on the highway y, tents were set up for the truck drivers stuck in traffic jams and tables were laid with hot food.

The practice of public apologies is widespread in Chechnya; and at Ramzan Kadyrov's promotion, it has spread to other regions.
