Law enforcers report prevented terror act in Adygea

A supporter of the "Islamic State" (IS)*, a terrorist organization banned in Russia by the court, has been detained; he confessed to preparing a terror act in central Maikop, the capital of Adygea, the Russian FSB (Federal Security Bureau) has reported today.

During a search at the suspect's residence, they found components for making an improvised explosive device (IED) with striking elements, a map of Maikop with marked objects and a flag of the IS*, the FSB's Public Relations Centre (PRC) has reported.

According to the PRC, the detainee is a native of Central Asia. He had fake migration documents, communication means with extremist content and Internet instructions for committing terror acts on him, which were also seized, the TASS has reported today.

A criminal case has been initiated against the detainee under the article "Preparation for a terrorist act." He has already confessed to the preparation of a terror act to be committed in central Maikop, the RIA "Novosti" has reported today.
