Instagram users urge Chechen traffic inspectors to behave more correctly

A video about the meeting of Chingiz Akhmadov, the director of the "Grozny" TV Channel, with Chechen GIBDD (traffic police) inspectors was posted on the Instagram.

Mr Akhmadov "told inspectors about the information war unleashed against Chechnya." "He pointed to attempts to spoil the republic's image. Everyone should combat this by showing one's civil stance on the Internet," the TV report says.

"Many people judge our republic by what they write in social networks. A person who was offended by a traffic inspector can write something about you; and this affects the image of the entire GIBDD. Because of this negativity, the image of the traffic police is formed," Mr Akhmadov has explained.

Authors of many comments treat Akhmadov's words as relevant.

"You have to be polite; a traffic police inspector is the republic's face," the user shahidov_adam95 has written. "The attitude of tourists towards our people will depend on this," the user s_ashabov72 agrees.

In February, a video was posted, in which Abuzaid Vismuradov, a Vice Premier of Chechnya, announced that a drunken detainee in Chechnya would be "liquidated".

Earlier, officials in Chechnya expressed threats to drivers for violations. Thus, in November 2020, Ramzan Kadyrov threatened to burn down the cars of those who disrespect policemen.
