Protest action against curfew held in Tbilisi

On March 6, Tbilisi townspeople held a protest action in the city centre demanding to lift the restrictions on movement at night.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that earlier protest actions demanding to soften the covid restrictions were held by travel industry professionals, taxi drivers and restaurateurs. Georgian authorities have decided to gradually lift the restrictions, but protesters believe that the government is doing it too slowly.

The protest action was held near the building of the Tbilisi Sakrebulo. Activists have stated that the curfew has no justification and demanded to cancel it, the "Georgia-Online" reports.

Tbilisi townspeople took part in the action. They brought posters reading "Curfew = Authoritarianism", "No Pass Needed for Freedom" and "Abolish Curfew!"
