Law enforcers report about discovery of an arms workshop in Dagestan

In the Kaitag District, in a house of a 62-year-old resident, law enforcers discovered homemade pistols and daggers, locksmith tools, and machines. During an interrogation, the man said that he had found the arms several years ago on the outskirts of the village.

In the house of a 62-year-old resident of the Kaitag District of Dagestan, law enforcers discovered an underground arms workshop to transform hollowed-out weapons for firing live ammunition. In the attic, the law enforcers found two homemade and two pneumatic pistols, while in the basement of the house, they discovered locksmith tools and machines, four homemade daggers, a Makarov pistol grip, more than 150 cartridges, and almost 30 cartridges of various calibres. The seized weapons were sent for examination, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Dagestan reported on its Instagram page.

The Dagestani MIA released a video from the detainee's house. The video shows a two-storey house, with the room where the arms workshop was arranged, with machines, equipment, and tools for machining metal. The video also depicts discovered weapons and ammunition.

The suspect was brought to a police station, and during an interrogation, the man said that he had found arms several years ago on the outskirts of the village. The suspect also confessed that he had found some of the cartridges while dismantling an old neighbouring house. The police launched an investigation into a criminal case under articles on illegal acquisition and storage of weapons and illegal arms manufacture, the Dagestani MIA reports.
