Two women-residents of Grozny detained for witchcraft

The "Grozny" ChGTRK (Chechen State TV and Radio Company) has posted a video on the Instagram about the detention of two women from Grozny for practicing occultism. After a conversation with Ali Yunusov, a theologian, the elderly women admitted their wrongdoing, as is follows from the report.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that since July 2019, persecution of Chechen residents for rendering occult services intensified in the republic. The "Grozny" ChGTRK is regularly issuing reports in which local repent of practicing witchcraft. In February, 2021, law enforcers detained a resident of Grozny, Bilkis Gaisumova, and Yunusov scolded her for providing occult services.

The above report by the "Grozny" ChGTRK says that Aina Datsaeva and Petimat Umarova presented themselves as high-level healers. At the same time, they made use "of most primitive and dangerous witchcraft rituals."

"Unfortunately, because of the people who are far from religion, clairvoyants and sorcerers of various sorts continue appearing," the report says.

Some commentators on the Instagram demanded to prosecute also those who turn to sorcerers.
