Resident of Terter District blows himself up by a mine

Niyameddin Verdiev, a resident of the village of Borsunlu, has lost his leg after triggering a mine in the Terter District, the Azerbaijani General Prosecutor's Office (GPO) has informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the number of civilians' detonation cases by mines is growing. On February 9, five Azerbaijani soldiers were blown up on a mine near the village of Talysh, Terter District; and they were hospitalized in grave condition.

After the conclusion of a truce on November 10, 2020, as a result of mine explosions, 14 residents of Azerbaijan were killed, nine of them – militaries, and five others – civilians. Other 60 residents were wounded: 52 military servicemen and eight civilians.

According to the GPO, Niyameddin Verdiev grazed has cattle in the above territory. After the mine explosion, his leg was amputated; he also received numerous wounds, the "Trend" reports.
