Educative talk at Achkhoi-Martan ROVD angers Instagram users

The video, in which a police officer scolds two young men from the Achkhoi-Martan District for supporting online publications criticizing Chechen authorities, has sparked outrage among Instagram users. One of the young men had been slandered, one of the commentators has stated.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 14, Iskhak Chalaev, the head of the Gudermes ROVD (District Interior Division), posted a video of his so-called "educative talk" with three young men, in which he scolded them for supporting the publications of "Euroichkerians" criticizing Chechen authorities.

The Chechen law enforcers regularly reprimand local residents on various occasions and post videos of these "conversations" in social networks. The reason can be a violation of traffic rules, use of alcohol or drugs, witchcraft, and even wearing a niqab.

The Instagram public "ChP. Grozny" has posted a video of another "explanatory talk" as part of implementing the concept of spiritual and moral education, this time in Achkhoi-Martan. The caption to the video duplicates Iskhak Chalaev's post. It tells about "trends alien to traditional Islam" and "extremist phenomena that are widely known in the Middle East," and sermons calling for jihad. However, in the video, the policeman, like in Chalaev's case, tells precisely about criticism of authorities.

The Instagram user cguctok stated that one of the young figurants in the video had been slandered. "I <...> called the [Achkhoi-Martan ROVD] just in a rage. I said that this person has nothing to do with the opposition; he is my employee; we have known him for a thousand years; and we both love our president. We are just fans of our leader! I reported that to the duty unit of the ROVD <...>. But everyone who learned about this story told me that there is no point; no one will ever admit his mistake; and they will make it even worse for the person in order to prove that they were right!" the social network user was outraged.
