Azerbaijan hands more than 100 bodies over to Nagorno-Karabakh

The Azerbaijani party has handed the bodies of 106 people killed in the conflict zone over to the authorities of Nagorno-Karabakh, the president of the unrecognized republic has informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh lasted from September 27 to November 9, 2020. On November 10, 2020, a peace agreement entered into force, according to which Baku gained control over the territories occupied during the autumn war.

On February 16, Azerbaijan handed over to Nagorno-Karabakh the bodies of 106 people who perished during the autumn war of 2020, the "News-Armenia" has reported with reference to Araik Arutyunyan, President of Nagorno-Karabakh.

The transfer of the bodies was held "based on the agreements reached, with the mediation of the Russian contingent of peacemaking forces," the "Sputnik-Armenia" has cited Mr Arutyunyan's message.

He has noted that the search for the bodies of the dead continues; the parties have also begun searching for the remains of those killed in the 1990s war.
