Protest action against COVID-19 restrictions held in Zugdidi

At night on February 10, several dozen activists came out to a protest action in the Western Georgian city of Zugdidi, demanding from the authorities to lift the curfew imposed earlier due to coronavirus spread.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the "Shame" movement in Georgia launched a series of protest actions against the curfew, which is in effect in the country in connection with the pandemic and lasts from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. local time.

Since February 1, Georgian authorities began gradually removing restrictions related to COVID-19. Protesters believe the government is doing it too slowly.

In the afternoon on February 9, several dozen activists came out to a protest action in the city of Zugdidi. The action began near the building of the territorial administration. Then, the protest continued in the evening near the office of the ruling "Georgian Dream" Party, the "Sputnik Georgia" has reported.

The protesters claimed falsifications at the parliamentary elections and expressed solidarity with the participants of the disobedience march held in Tbilisi.
