In Kuban, a teacher detained after participating in a protest action

The law enforcement bodies accused Eduard Kunaev, a teacher from the village of Dinskaya, of disobeying the police at a protest action that took place in Krasnodar on January 31, advocate Mikhail Benyash reported.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 23 and 31, in the south of Russia, like in other Russian regions, protest actions were held in support of Alexei Navalny.

On February 2, in Moscow, the court found Alexei Navalny guilty of violating the probation and replaced his suspended sentence with the imprisonment by sending the defendant to a penal colony for 3.5 years. Meanwhile, the court took into account the period of time Alexei Navalny spent under house arrest, and as a result, the oppositionist is to spend 2.8 years in the penal colony.

Eduard Kunaev, a design engineer who works as a robotics science teacher at the "Shag" (Step) computer academy, was detained on February 4, Mikhail Benyash reports today. According to the advocate, the police are searching for participants of a march held in Krasnodar on January 31.

The fate of Eduard Kunaev was unknown for several hours. The advocate and activists called the on-duty unit of the Krasnodar UVD (Interior Directorate), but got no answer. Meanwhile, Eduard Kunaev stopped answering mobile phone calls immediately after his detention, Mikhail Benyash said.

The advocate suggests that policemen seized the teacher's mobile phone, although such a seizure before the administrative detention exceeds the authority of the police. According to the advocate, at night, they found Eduard Kunaev at the Krasnodar UVD.

The administrative case is instituted against the teacher for disobeying the police. According to a protocol on the institution of administrative proceedings, the teacher "was waving his hands and using obscene language; he did not react to requests of policemen and tried to escape," Mikhail Benyash noted.
