"Caucasian Knot" correspondent would not give fingerprints to Astrakhan policemen

Despite the presented ID, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was detained at a protest action in Astrakhan, which she covered on the assignment of the editorial board. At the police station, they tried to force her to undergo fingerprinting.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 31, a two-hour-long march was held in Astrakhan in support of the opposition leader, Alexei Navalny. Detentions began after the action. Law enforcers detained Alyona Sadovskaya, a "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, and took her to the police station after she said that she was covering the action of Navalny's supporters in Astrakhan; she spent more than an hour at the police station.

"I kept showing my media ID to everyone, and said that they were detaining a journalist, but they didn't care," Ms Sadovskaya said.

At the Trusovsky ROVD (District Interior Division), protocols were drawn up on the detainees, Alyona has reported. "Then, they placed us one by one into the offices on the second level and asked us to write explanatory notes. I explained that I was at the action as a correspondent, showed my ID and the editorial assignment in my phone. They wrote it all down, and I signed the explanation," she said. They tried to force Sadovskaya to undergo fingerprinting for identification, but she refused.
