Media disclose details of "Putin's palace" on Black Sea coast

Until the early 2000s, the coast near Gelendzhik, where the "Putin's palace" is located, used to be a picturesque area of wild nature. At present, a unique sophisticated 16-level bunker is constructed in a rock on Cape Idokopas. According to a journalistic investigation conducted by the "Meduza", engineers and builders were not informed about the customer of the facility in Praskoveevka, but no one doubted that was the residence of the leader of the state.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that after the arrest of Alexei Navalny, the Anti-Corruption Fund (ACF, recognized in the Russian Federation as a foreign agent), released an investigation about the palace near Gelendzhik, the largest private house in Russia, which is being built with money from state-run companies.

According to local residents, the history of the palace construction began in 2002-2003. Until that time, the area with unique natural conditions was accessible to tourists, notes Ilya Yeremenko, who created a local history website about Praskoveevka.

People interviewed by the "Meduza" say that Vladimir Putin has visited his residence on Cape Idokopas at least four times.

Under the palace, there is a 16-level underground complex, a "whole anthill in the rock." The lobby with a lift, connecting it with the underground rooms, is designed for a case of evacuation. In 2007-2011, the construction of the lift mine cost about three billion roubles.

Construction contractors explained the purpose of the facilities, which attracted increased media attention. So, a room designated as a "mud warehouse" is intended for the storage of therapeutic mud in briquettes, raw materials for mud baths. "Aquadisco" represents a light and music fountain.
