Participant of motor rally against Pashinyan detained in Yerevan

Yerevan policemen have detained David Bagdasaryan, an oppositionist, who took part in a motor rally demanding resignation of Nikol Pashinyan, the Prime Minister.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in November 2020, after signing the peace agreement with Azerbaijan, protest actions began in Armenia. Supporters of the opposition are seeking resignation of Nikol Pashinyan, who had signed the agreement, from the post of head of the Cabinet (Premier).

On January 17, supporters of the opposition held a motor rally in Yerevan, demanding Nikol Pashinyan's resignation. Drivers of 15-20 cars took part in the rally; they attached posters reading "Traitor, go away!" and Nikol Pashinyan's photos to their cars, the "Sputnik Armenia" reports.

The motor rally started from Arshakunyats Avenue; then, they drove to Republic Square in central Yerevan. There, in the square, law enforcers detained one of the drivers; and several others were fined for signalling, the "News-Armenia" reports.

The detainee is David Bagdasaryan, an oppositionist, Sos Akopyan, the press secretary of the "Airenik" (Fatherland) Party, has stated.
