Police detain a suspect in case on murder at a gathering in Tarki

A 19-year-old local resident has been detained on suspicion of killing MMA fighter Kerim Khairullaev during a mass fight at a gathering in the Makhachkala village of Tarki, the Investigating Department for Dagestan of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) reports.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 6, in the Makhachkala village of Tarki, during a gathering at which local residents were discussing the murder of activist Vali Abduragimov, a mass fight took place, in which Kerim Khairullaev, a native of Makhachkala, was killed.

A 23-year-old activist, Vali Abduragimov, who had tried "to unite the settlement's jamaat against drug dealers" and claimed a former law enforcer's involvement in illegal circulation of forbidden substances, was killed on the slope of Tarki-Tau Mountain in Makhachkala on January 3.

A 19-year-old resident of the Makhachkala village of Tarki has been detained on suspicion of killing MMA fighter Kerim Khairullaev, an officer of the press service for the ICRF's Department for Dagestan reports.

According to the investigators' information, Kerim Khairullaev got a fatal stab wound, the "AiF Dagestan" reported in the evening on January 7.

"The [suspect] caused death in the course of the personal hostile relationship," reported the press officer of the ICRF's Department for Dagestan as quoted on the same day by the newspaper "Chernovik" (Draft).

According to the investigators' information, 10 people participated in the fight. Kerim Khairullaev got a stab wound and died in a hospital. The police have detained seven participants of the conflict, the "Chernovik" reports.
