Tarki residents report mass brawl after activist's murder

A people's gathering demanding to evict the alleged drug dealer, due to which an activist, Vali Abduragimov, was killed earlier, has turned into a mass brawl in the dwelling settlement of Tarki that is a part of Makhachkala. Social networks have messages about casualties and wounded people; however, this information has not been officially confirmed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 3, a 23-year-old activist, Vali Abduragimov, who had tried "to unite the settlement's jamaat against drug dealers" and claimed a former law enforcer's involvement in illegal circulation of forbidden substances, was killed on the slope of Tarki-Tau Mountain in Makhachkala.

On January 6, people gathered in Tarki to make a decision to evict the family of an alleged drug dealer out of the settlement, the anonymous Telegram channel RONlN has reported. At that moment, information appeared that the dealer was brought home; after which "15 people rushed there and a brawl broke out." The dealer's cousin attacked one of the visitors with a knife and fatally stabbed him. After that, the attacker and the alleged drug dealer was taken away in police cars, and "Tarki residents began blocking the road and searching all the cars aiming to find the killer," the message says. A new residents' gathering is scheduled for January 8, "where a decision will be made to evict the entire tukhum (the family community, – note of the "Caucasian Knot")."

The community "Voice of Dagestan" reports about three casualties and some wounded persons among the brawlers; however, this information has not yet been confirmed.
