Azerbaijani resident blown up by a mine in conflict zone

A citizen of Azerbaijan illegally entered the non-demined territory of the Fizuli District and was blown up by a mine. He lost both his legs in the explosion.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 13, in the Agdam District, which came under the control of Azerbaijan after the autumn escalation of the Karabakh conflict, three persons were blown up by a mine. As a result of the explosion, one of them, a civilian, was killed, while two others, including a military man, were injured.

After the hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh, the process of demining may take a year. Russian political analysts note that clearing the places of the combat actions from ammunition is a long and difficult process.

Today, 39-year-old Zabil Babaev has been blown up by an anti-personnel mine. According to the General Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan, the incident occurred as a result of the illegal entry into the non-demined territory.

In the period from September 27 to November 30, 93 civilians of Azerbaijan were killed in missile attacks, and five persons were blown up by mines. During the above period, 414 people were injured, the General Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan reported.
