Russian MoD reports about restoration of power supply in Nagorno-Karabakh

Power supply has been restored in 24 cities, towns, and villages of Nagorno-Karabakh, where more than 12,000 people live, the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) reports.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 11, residents of Nagorno-Karabakh reported daily power outages. In Nagorno-Karabakh, the power supply system operates in emergency mode, an employee of the Sarsang HPP (hydroelectric power plant) says.

On November 17, Araik Arutyunyan, President of Nagorno-Karabakh, announced that gas, electricity, and water supply and mobile communications would be free for residents throughout the year.

In Nagorno-Karabakh, the power supply system has been restored with the help of Russian peacekeepers, the Russian MoD announces. The Russian peacekeepers have also delivered the humanitarian aid to the village of Khanabad (the Armenian name is Khnapat, – note of the "Caucasian Knot") in the Askeran District.

Let us remind you that after the ceasefire and the transfer of some territories to Azerbaijan, Karabakh faced a shortage of electricity supply. Power lines from Armenia to Karabakh and most electric power substations had been damaged in shelling attacks.
