Police chief of Kizlyar District accused in case on terror act in Moscow

In 2010, the chief of the Kizlyar ROVD (District Interior Division) in Dagestan helped a female suicide bomber get to Moscow and commit an explosion in the metro, the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) reports.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 22, sources from the law enforcement bodies reported about the detention of the chief of the ROVD for the Kizlyar District of Dagestan, suspected of aiding terrorism and organizing a murder.

Police Colonel Gazi Isaev, the chief of the Division for the Kizlyar District in Dagestan of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), has been detained. According to the investigators' version, in 2010, Gazi Isaev personally drove one of the female suicide bombers to a bus station in the area of Kizlyar, who went from there to Moscow. According to the report of the ICRF, signed by Svetlana Petrenko, the spokesperson for the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation, when Gazi Isaev gave the female suicide bomber a lift, the woman already had a bomb fixed on her body.

According to the investigators' information, Gazi Isaev joined the "Imarat Kavkaz", a terrorist organization, banned in Russia by the court, and in 2009-2010, "using his official position, Police Colonel Gazi Isaev was providing information to leaders of the criminal community about the activities of the Kizlyar ROVD and special operations against illegal armed formations (IAFs)." Law enforcers suggest that the police officer repeatedly transported leaders of terrorist units across Dagestan.
