Rally for Nikol Pashinyan's resignation turns into a large-scale march

The Cabinet of Ministers must resign and thus the agreement with Azerbaijan will remain unfulfilled, organizers of a rally in Yerevan claim. The police detained 129 activists.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today, 17 opposition political forces of Armenia organized a rally with the demand for the resignation of Nikol Pashinyan. Law enforcers detained dozens of people, including Gagik Tsarukyan, the leader of the "Prosperous Armenia" Party.

On November 10, an agreement between Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia on the cessation of hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh came into force. Last night, dozens of Yerevan residents, dissatisfied with the signing of the ceasefire agreement with Azerbaijan, broke into the building of the Armenian government and demanded Nikol Pashinyan's resignation.

129 protesters were detained at Freedom Square, and some of them were later released, the "Sputnik Armenia" reports with reference to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).

The column of protesters marched from the square towards the building of the Armenian government.

The police failed to stop the rally, despite the massive detentions and accumulation of special forces fighters at Freedom Square. The protesters were chanting: "Nikol is a traitor!" and "Artsakh!" (the self-name of Nagorno-Karabakh, – note of the "Caucasian Knot"), the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reported after watching the broadcast of the protest action at the "Factor" website. Thousands of people are visible on the broadcasts.

The Armenian Prime Minister secretly from the public signed a treacherous agreement on the surrender of territories, stated in his speech Arthur Gazinyan, the leader of the "United Armenia" Party. "Thousands of soldiers fought for every millimetre, but they were betrayed. Nobody gave Pashinyan a mandate to conclude that treacherous document. We will not allow the surrender of the lands liberated by blood," Arthur Gazinyan said.
