Azerbaijan reports deaths of 20 Barda residents

20 civilians were killed and up to 60 others were injured when the city of Barda was being shelled with cluster bombs from a "Smerch" heavy multiple missile launcher, the General Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan reported.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Azerbaijan has reported that the Armenian troops used a "Smerch" heavy multiple missile launcher and shelled the frontline city of Barda. The General Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan reported about casualties among civilians without disclosing their number.

About 79 residents of Barda fell victim to the missile strike, the General Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan reported. "As a result of a missile strike on the city of Barda with the use of banned cluster bombs, 19 residents of the city were killed, and up to 60 other civilians were wounded, the General Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan reported," report prosecutors in their message sent to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent today.

The Barda city's infrastructure and vehicles have been destroyed, the General Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan reports.

At least six missiles hit the city, says Yusif Rzaev, a resident of Barda. "At least six missiles blew up in the city. They fell in the market area, in a yard of an eight-storey residential building. Cars caught fire as a result of the explosion. Buildings were damaged. Windows were shattered in private houses, apartments in multi-storey buildings, and shops," Yusif Rzaev said to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
