Iran is ready to mediate settlement of Karabakh conflict

Tehran has held talks with Baku and Yerevan and offered to act as a mediator in resolving the aggravation in Nagorno-Karabakh.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in the morning on October 26, a new agreement on a humanitarian truce in the Karabakh conflict zone entered into force, but already during the first hours after, the parties exchanged accusations of violating the truce.

The Iranian President and Foreign Minister have held talks with the parties to the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh and announced Tehran's readiness to mediate in the settlement thereof, the "Zvezda" wrote on October 27 with reference to Kazem Djalali, the Iranian Ambassador to the Russian Federation.

According to Mr Djalali, Iran believes that the problem can be solved by combining efforts of the countries of the region. Moreover, as the Ambassador has noted, the Karabakh conflict can lead to serious consequences not only in Azerbaijan and Armenia, but also in other countries of the region, the "Gazeta.ru" reports.
