A group of militants liquidated in Karachayevo-Cherkessia

In the city of Cherkessk, Karachayevo-Cherkessia, an operation was undertaken to liquidate a group of militants who were hiding in a dwelling house. In the apartment, captured by a storm, the body of certain Tokov was identified. Search of other militants continues. Two militants were killed and one detained, the ITAR-TASS informs.

The extremists were blocked in an apartment of a five-storey apartment block at 58 Lenina Street. Negotiations gave no results, and in the morning an active phase of the operation started. At about 2:45 p.m., the employees of the Ministry of Interior and FSB Department for the Karachayevo-Cherkessian Republic started the final phase of the special operation on liquidation of the militants, the "Interfax" reports.

The militants who hid in the apartment (supposedly, four persons) furnished fierce resistance. According to a source at the Ministry of Interior, as a result of the grenades used by law enforcement agents, the apartment was periodically set on fire. However, it was extinguished.

According to the preliminary data, presented by the RIA "Novosti," the apartment belongs to Temerlan Bostanov, one of the main defendants in Kaitov's case.
