Officer of Armenian Army captured in Karabakh conflict zone
A clash with saboteurs occurred in the Karabakh conflict zone; an Armenian officer was taken in captivity, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence (MoD) has reported. In its turn, the Armenian MoD has objected stating that Gurgen Alaverdyan is not a saboteur; he just got lost due to bad weather.
"A sabotage and reconnaissance group of the Armed Forces of Armenia tried to commit a provocation in the Goranboy section of the frontline (north of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR), – note of the "Caucasian Knot")," says the website of the Azerbaijani MoD, adding that "the enemy, having suffered losses, was forced to retreat."
The official Baku has imposed the responsibility for the aggravation of the situation on the Armenian leadership.
The Armenian officer got lost and disappeared. The information about the sabotage group has nothing to do with reality, Shushan Stepanyan, the press secretary of the Armenian MoD, has stated as reported by the "Sputnik Armenia".
