Amulsar defenders announce starting a series of disobedience actions

Opponents of the development of the Amulsar deposit held a motor rally from Jermuk to Yerevan with the participation of about 250 people. The today's activity was announced to be the beginning of a series of peaceful actions of disobedience.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that residents of Jermuk have been protesting against the development of the Amulsar deposit since 2014. According to participants of a flash mob which took place in Yerevan on August 19, the authorities of Armenia ignore the situation with the Amulsar mine, despite the massive protests.

Today at noon, a column of cars has left Jermuk and headed for Yerevan, and at about 5:00 p.m. local time, the cars already reached the Armenian capital, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Shirak Buniatyan, a resident of Jermuk.

About 250 people in about 200 cars took part in the action.

"I believe this action is enough in a democratic country for the government to understand that we have started a series of peaceful actions of disobedience. It's high time for the authorities to demonstrate the political will and put an end to the marauding project of Amulsar," Shirak Buniatyan emphasized.
