Belarusian TV deserves comparison with "Grozny" TV Channel
Amid mass protests, the Belarusian State TV Company showed a group of detainees, who repented before law enforcers, promising "not to make a revolution." In this context, Telegram users have recalled the apologies and humiliation of the residents of Chechnya in the stories broadcast by the "Grozny" TV Channel.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 9, the presidential election was held in Belarus. According to preliminary data from the Central Election Commission (CEC), the incumbent Alexander Lukashenko won 80% of the vote. Mass protests began in the country, the participants of which treat these results as falsified. The protest actions are harshly suppressed by law enforcers. Against this background, the congratulations addressed by the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, to Alexander Lukashenko look ridiculous, Instagram users have pointed out.
"The Belarusian IV is becoming similar to the 'Grozny' one," the Telegram channel "Rasstriga" has commented on the report of the "Belarus-24" TV Channel. In the video, six detainees are standing handcuffed against the wall.
Yuri Karaev, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Belarus, is a native of North Ossetia, says the MIA's website. Many commentators spoke in Karaev's defence. In their opinion, he "acts within the legal field."
