Mother of deceased Tamar Bachaliashvili demands meeting with Georgian Premier

The Georgian Government should inform the relatives of the deceased programmer Tamar Bachaliashvili to which officials she had access to before her death, the girl's mother explained her demand to meet the Georgian Prime Minister.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 23, the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) announced that during the initial examination, no traces of violence were found on the body of the 23-year-old Tamar Bachaliashvili; and investigators were establishing the circumstances of her death. This statement was made amid protests, whose participants reproached the police for an inefficient investigation.

Teona Tamazashvili, Tamar's mother, demanded a meeting with Georgian Premier, Giorgi Gakhariya. Authorities should tell the family of the deceased girl into which three persons' files Tamar had got, said the mother.

Yesterday, the "Formula" Tbilisi TV Company reported referring to its sources in the investigating authorities that Tamar Bachaliashvili, who worked as a programmer, had decrypted secret files concerning three high-ranking Georgian officials. According to the sources of the TV Company, after that Bachaliashvili began receiving threats; and then she was appointed a meeting for the transfer of the secret files.
