Kadyrov ignores appeals of two detainees' mothers

Chechen women have complained to Ramzan Kadyrov about the arrest of their sons, Magomed and Akhmed Khaikharoev, who have been in custody for five months. Instagram users spoke in support of mothers.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the mother of Magomed Khaikharoev, a resident of the village of Assinovskaya, disseminated an audio appeal, in which she asked Ramzan Kadyrov to help to free her son.

Magomed Khaikharoev is in custody for the fifth month, as well as his cousin Akhmed Khaikharoev, says a new appeal to Kadyrov, posted on May 1 in the Instagram public "ChP Grozny". The appeal fails to specify reasons for Khaikharoevs' arrest; nothing is also said about their innocence.

By 11:20 a.m. Moscow time on May 2, this post had gathered 1488 "likes" and 134 comments.

"It's very hard to listen to mother's plea," the user makhauriasia has noted. "They'll prepare an article and fabricate a case against [the detainees according to] the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation," the user osatop2020 has suggested. "By what right are they keeping these teenagers? Poor mothers. <...> It's some kind of lawlessness," the user svetlana_yshina05 was indignant today.

In their comments, many users placed tags to the account Kadyrov_95; however, neither in this page, nor on the page of the head of Chechnya on the VKontakte social network by 10:20 a.m. Moscow time on May 2, there was any reaction to the appeal of the two Chechen women. By 10:20 a.m. Moscow time on May 2, no information about the detention of the Khaikharoev brothers was also posted on the website of the Chechen Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA). The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was unable to contact any Khaikharoevs' close relatives.
