Special and counterterrorist operations

They stopped mosque visitors leaving after Friday prayers and wrote down their personal data. The law enforcers stopped only those believers who travelled by car. Some mosque-goers reported they were summoned to police stations in connection with a visit to the mosque.

Disappearances

At night on March 12, in Dagestan, Kurban-Magomed Medjidov, a resident of Kaspiysk, was taken away by law enforcers to some unknown destination. Since then, his whereabouts are unknown. The man visited the "Tangim" mosque in Makhachkala and took an active part in the life of the mosque. A spokesperson for the "Tangim" Mosque explained that earlier, Kurban-Magomed Medjidov had been put on a police preventive registration list and was in the field of view of the law enforcement bodies, but did not adhere to extremist radical views.
