On February 3-9, 2020, no one fell victim to armed conflict in Northern Caucasus

During the week of February 3-9, 2020, no one fell victim to the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from other open sources.

Special and counterterrorist operations

On February 7, in Makhachkala, law enforcers conducted a raid near the "Tangim" Mosque after a Friday prayer. Dozens of law enforcers took part in the raid. They were stopping cars and writing down the personal date of car drivers. The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Dagestan reported that the police were engaged in "ensuring security in crowded places."

Kidnappings

On February 5, four young people were kidnapped from the village of Gekhi in the Urus-Martan District of Chechnya. Unidentified people forced Movsar Vakhaev, Abdulla Zairaev, Zelimkhan Kulaev, and Akhmed Sataev into cars and drove them away to some unknown destination. The fate of the kidnapped men remains unknown.

It should be noted that no casualties among militants, law enforcers, and civilians in the conflict in Northern Caucasus have been registered since early 2020. The recent attack on law enforcers took place in Magas on December 31.
