"Roskomnadzor" draws up two new protocols against HRC "Memorial"

Following the FSB Department for Ingushetia, an individual filed a complaint to the "Roskomnadzor" (Russian Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media) about the fact that the materials of the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" were released without a "foreign agent" mark. As a result, the number of administrative protocols drawn up against Alexander Cherkasov, the chairman of the HRC's Council, reached eight.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that by November 28, the amount of fines to the "International Memorial", the HRC "Memorial", and the leaders of the organizations reached 2.3 million roubles. The fines were imposed following the considerations by the court of 11 out of 20 protocols on the absence of the "foreign agent" mark.

Today, the "Roskomnadzor" has drawn up two more protocols against the HRC "Memorial" and Alexander Cherkasov, the chairman of the HRC's Council. This time, the administrative protocols were drawn up for the absence of the "foreign agent" mark on a page of the instruction "Illegal police prevention registration of citizens in the bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) in Northern Caucasus: how to protect own rights." "These are the seventh and eighth protocols drawn up against the HRC 'Memorial' and Alexander Cherkasov," reports a message posted on the website of the HRC "Memorial".

Unlike previous protocols, these two were initiated not by the Ingush FSB, but by individual Andrei Shuvalov.
