Azerbaijani journalist awarded "Free Media-2019" Prize

Khafiz Babaly, an Azerbaijani investigative journalist, has become one of the laureates of the "Free Media-2019" Prize, awarded by the Norwegian Fritt Ord Foundation and the German ZEIT Foundation.

The "Free Media-2019" awards ceremony was held in Vilnius on November 19. The award, as noted in the ZEIT Foundation's press release, is awarded to 'brave journalists and editors who unshakably reveal corruption and abuse of power, publicize human rights violations and are not afraid of governments' threats."

The Azerbaijani journalist, Khafiz Babaly, has been awarded for his work, the aim of which is "to show the scale of corruption in Azerbaijan to the Azerbaijani and international communities."
