Arrest of Akhmed Barakhoev extended

The court extended for three months the period of detention in custody for Akhmed Barakhoev, one of the leaders of the protests in Ingushetia.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that since April 3, Akhmed Barakhoev has been under arrest in a criminal case on calls for riots and use of violence against a public officer. The Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" recognized Akhmed Barakhoev and four other protest leaders as political prisoners.

The court extended the arrest of Akhmed Barakhoev until February 10, 2020, the Ingush edition "Bakdar" reports today with the reference to Fatim Urusov, an advocate of Akhmed Barakhoev.

The court has decided that if Akhmed Barakhoev is released, he can hide from investigators or take advantage of his influence and put pressure on witnesses, the "FortangaORG" reports today on its Telegram channel.
