Martin Kochesoko left under house arrest

The Urvan District Court of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR) has extended the house arrest of the activist, Martin Kochesoko, by two months.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Martin Kochesoko, the head of the Circassian NGO "Khabze", was detained on June 7 in Nalchik. On June 13, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) announced that he had pled guilty to the acquisition and possession of drugs. On June 24, 2019, Martin Kochesoko told the Supreme Court (SC) of the KBR that law enforcers had beaten him up and planted drugs on him, forcing him to give a confession. On June 25, the Court ruled to transfer him to house arrest.

Today, the court has extended Martin Kochesoko's house arrest by two months, says the post in the community ___habze___ on the Instagram.

On June 9, a petition was posted on the chang.org in support of Martin Kochesoko. As of 6:20 p.m. Moscow time on August 5, it had gathered 5524 signatures.
