Arrested Ingush activist beaten up in Nalchik SIZO

In the Nalchik SIZO (pre-trial prison), law enforcers have beaten up Bagaudin Myakiev, the arrested member of the Ingush Council of Teips, his advocate, Fatima Urusova, has informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that about 30 Ingush oppositionists were arrested within the criminal case about calls to mass riots and using violence against law enforcers.

The message about Myakiev's beating in the Nalchik SIZO appeared in the evening on July 18 on the page sovet_teipov on the Instagram. The council refers to the advocates engaged in Kabardino-Balkaria in the case of Ingush activists.

"As of 8:00 p.m., it is known that Myakiev, through his advocate, has drafted an application to the prosecutor's office describing the incident," the message says.

It also notes that others activists kept in the Nalchik SIZO have gone on a hunger strike "in solidarity with Myakiev."

The information on the use of force against Myakiev was confirmed by his advocate, Fatima Urusova. "There are traces of beatings on his face. We don't know the reasons for the beatings," the "Kavkaz.Realii" has quoted the advocate as saying today.
