Baku police disperses protest action held by fire victims in "Diglas"

In Baku, the entrepreneurs, who suffered from a fire in the "Diglas" Shopping Centre, held a protest action demanding compensation for their suffered damage.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 26, 2019, several people got poisoned with smoke during a fire that broke in the "Diglas" Shopping Centre in Baku. The entrepreneurs, whose property was burned down, should receive compensations, the head of the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan has promised.

"For two months already they promise everything to us, but there are no real steps ... We want the promised compensations; and it's not our fault that there were no fire safety measures in the shopping centre," the "Turan.az" quotes one of the protesters as saying.

The protest action was stopped by police intervention.

The previous action was held on May 13 at the building of the Cabinet of Ministers. Then, the protesters' delegation was received at the Cabinet, where they were advised to wait, since the investigation continues.
