Resident of Georgian border village released in South Ossetia

Givi Beruashvili, a resident of the Ditsi village on the border with South Ossetia, was released, the State Security Service of Georgia reported.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 17, Givi Beruashvili disappeared from his land plot. According to the State Security Service of Georgia, the young man was kidnapped and accused of illegally crossing the border.

The negotiations on the release of the Georgian citizen were conducted with the help of the hotline of EU observers, the "Georgia Online" reports.

Russian servicemen handed Givi Beruashvili over to Georgian law enforcers at a checkpoint in the Ergneti village, the Georgian "First Channel" reports.
