Ingush authorities join to rescue students detained in Egypt

The whereabouts of the Ingush students from the Cairo Islamic is being established; the information about their detention has been confirmed today by the Ambassador of Egypt, Yunus-Bek Evkurov has informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that since August 2018, relatives cannot contact the five students, detained during their study in Egypt. According to relatives, the detainees are kept in concrete cells without mattresses and sufficient food.

Mr Evkurov, the Ingush leader, has reported today that the Permanent Representative of Ingushetia in Moscow had a meeting with the Egyptian Ambassador, Ikhab Akhmed Talaat Nasr. "According to available reports, the students were detained by Egyptian law enforcers," the Instagram quoted Mr Evkurov as saying.

Meanwhile, both the Russian Embassy and the Consulates in Egypt have not yet established the place, where the Ingush students are kept. The reasons for their detention are also unknown, Mr Tsechoev reported to Evkurov.

In the context of the incident, the Ingush leader has instructed Magomed Dzaurov, his adviser on religious matters, to speak on local television and warn residents that when travelling to study abroad, they should observe the migration legislation.
